LAYTOFARM run update

Okay, so the 11-16-13 LAYTOFARM Half Marathon/10K is still on and just around the corner. Only 20 training days left. Why are we doing this? Actually – simply to get one more “official” run in for the season.
Start times (in Layton):
                Half Marathon -                       6:30 a.m.
                10K -                                      7:00 a.m.
Finish and breakfast
Farmington (Garbett condos south and west of Smith’s, just off Shephard Lane). This will be the Half Marathon finish line and the breakfast spot for all. 10Kers will be shuttled to this spot – 2 miles past their finish line. Plenty of hot chocolate and cold TruMoo along with other delectable delights.
Aid stations will be provided along the way. You are welcome to carry your own also if you wish (or talk a running partner into doing it for you, but lick the tops first J).
Cost –
$10 donation to cover food and aid stations. Sign up through e-mail.
Shirts –
What is a race without a shirt, eh? Custom designed just for this race. Sold at cost of $25. Not making anything on these. Don’t have to get one to run, but if you want one it would be fun? Choose your color and size.  If want one, must have order and money in by November 1st. Email order to us and give money to person who roped you into this. Again – don’t have to have one. Just a choice – with a deadline. If you would like more information and to know the course, shoot us an e-mail.

Upcoming Schedule

As we continue to progress the running club, we continue to try different things to see when and what can get the results with the club. Here is a proposed, tentative, schedule.
- Saturday August 24th. We will be doing a 4 mile run at 6 a.m., and also a 5k route at 7 a.m. (you can attend one or both) - meet at Central Park in South Weber.
- August 31st we will be doing a trail (trail TBD) run, plan on meeting at the park 'n ride at 6 a.m.
- September 3rd (Tuesday). We will have another meeting to discuss and there will also be a lecture on a running topic. 7:30 p.m.
- September 12th (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. we will have a running specific workout.

Please contact me with any questions or suggestions you may have. I will send out e-mails closer to the time of each event for reminders and specific details. Also, It would be nice to get a head count for the events so we can know who and how many to plan on. Thanks for your support.

Happy Running,
